Video Subbing: AMETALK (2012.07.12) JoJo's Bizzare Comedians Part 2

Hey folks,

Yes, at last. A video.

It's the second installment of JoJo's Bizarre Comedians on the show, Ametalk.
If you haven't seen the first one, check it here:
http://jburogu-godzillaradio.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/video-subbing-jojos-bizarre-adventure.html

So, seems like I'm in a subbing slump. I'm not feeling much motivation to doing it recently, unfortunately. That, and I've had some computer troubles, is the main reason why it took so long for me to get another video done.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

Laters!

For now there's only a low quality one here.

Video Subbing: Lincoln (2012.05.01) No SATNAV Rally

G'day folks!

I've fiiiiiinallly done another Lincoln episode.
I think it has been several months since the last one.
Too long, I know, but I didn't even realise that much time had passed.
I'm more busy than when I started subbing, and it's just so time consuming....especially if it's an episode that goes for 40+ minutes.

I was wondering which episode to do and remember reading that a lot of people on the GnT fan forum wanted subs for the No SATNAV Rally episode when it first aired. So here it is.

If people want to ask for specific Lincoln episodes, I'll totally consider them, as I'm planning on doing more of this series anyway of my own accord yet only have a handful of episodes that I am personally planning to do.

So yes, make some suggestions if you want. Just don't expect it all to be done though.

I'll be probably be doing a Suberanai Hanashi next, but it may be something else.

I dunno.

TRANSLATION NOTES
Wooaa it has been ages since I did this. It just takes a fair bit of time to do. Except, I know lots of people find it interesting, so it bothers me when I'm too lazy to write it up. But you're lucky this time around, I suppose.

FEMALE GUESTS

Nanao is a currently popular talent/personality, mainly famous for her long slim legs (I think?). She was rumoured to be dating J-Pop/rock star, T.M. Revolution last year. I don't know if they actually are though.

Serina was a former member of the idol group SDN48. She was in the "centre position", basically the most popular and gets the most air time in videos etc. She's noticeable for her highly squeeky anime-like voice, which, in my opinion, can get pretty annoying some times. But sometimes it's cute. How strange.....

Sorry about all the raunchy photos. I just find the so much more interesting...haha

Sonmi is a fashion model and daughter of a ultra rich man who owns a casino in Macau. That might have something to do with why she's a model....since she's not really that....good loo...well not model level looks. This photo is nice though.

lol

KANTO and KANSAI
Kanto is the name given roughly to the area around the east coast of the center of Japan. This includes Tokyo, Chiba and Kanagawa etc. (wikipedia)

Kansai (or Kinki) is west of Kanto, and includes places like Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures. A lot of comedians tend to come from this area and there are some distinct cultural differences and a friendly  rivalry between Kanto and Kansai. (wikipedia)

Also, these were these areas inspired the first two maps on the Pokemon games. The rest of the games modelled their maps on other areas of Japan.

TOKYO's 23 WARDS
The city of Tokyo is broken up into 23 wards, basically 23 different areas. Like the boroughs of New York, they each have their own council and stuff. (wikipedia)

GINZA PEDESTRIAN PARADISE

Ginza is a popular upper class shopping district. On the weekends, between 12:00 noon to 5pm, the roads are closed to cars in the main shopping area. This allows pedestrians to walk around freely on the streets between shops without fear of being run over/waiting for traffic lights. Hence why it's a pedestrian paradise.

SKYTREE

Is the new broadcasting tower that finished being built last year in Tokyo. It is the tallest tower in the world, unless if it has been overtaken already (People are always trying to build bigger buildings and stuff....). It replaced the Tokyo Tower in its TV broadcasting duties, as it was no longer able to transmit digital signals well enough anymore. This was because too many high buildings were built around it lol.

Video Subbing: Ametalk (2011.08.11) Sakigake! Otokojuku Comedians

Heyyy

It has been a while-ish.

I've subbed another Ameta-lk! episode again after quite some time. Continuing with the tradition here on this blog, it's another episode focusing on a popular anime/manga series. This time around it's....SAKIGAKE! OTOKOJUKU!!

That manga name was meant to be said in a particular type of voice, which you will hear if you watch the video.

"Sakigake! Otokojuku" (literally Charge! Men's Private School) was a popular manga series published on the Weekly Jump Magazine in the later half of the 1980's. It was originally a sort of a satirical take on macho fighting manga such as "Fist of the North Star" and "Jojo's Bizarre Adventures" that were also popular at the time.

Basically it's about an ultra-nationalistic private school that takes in violent delinquents from around the country and beats into them how to be a strong Japanese manly man. Lots of extreme rules and traditions exist at this school, such as being forced to commit suicide if you each lunch early during class. Crazy, but still funny, because it's not real.

Anyway, you'll get to know the quirky sides of this manga a lot more if you watch.....

Sorry about the quality of the video... I couldn't find any better ones.
Also, it'll be up on dailymotion in a few days so don't moan about it please :)

Video Subbing: LINCOLN (2009.03.03) Ariyoshi Hiroyuki Classroom

Heya, here's another video sub for you.

It's an episode from the show, "Lincoln", which I've done once before. That was quite a while ago and had good feedback about it so I thought it should be about time to do another one. This time it features the comedian, Ariyoshi Hiroyuki, giving a lecture to the Lincoln crew about things they do wrong and how they should improve. Ariyoshi is now very popular and famous for being fearlessly rude, and giving other people nasty nicknames. This episode was aired in 2009, which was when he started to gain popularity again with this style. Previously in the early~mid 1990's he shot to stardom as the comedy duo "Saruganseki", through a show called "Susume! Denpa Shonen" which showed they hitchiking around the world. They then released a hit single called "Shiroi Kumo No Youni" (Just like white clouds). Their popularity suddenly took a quick downward turn and barely got any jobs for around 7~8 years. He refers to this period in his biography as "seeing hell".

After his second break, he is now probably the most busy comedian in Japan, appearing regularly and as guests on many shows.

Ohh and I've cut out a segment from the middle, which was a mini semi-documentary about the comedian Degawa Tetsuro. It was kinda boring and I couldn't be stuffed doing it....

I think I more or less explained what needs explaining in the intro or the video....?
If there's anything else, let me know.
