Video Subbing: London Hearts (2011.10.18) Guys Ranking Each Other

Hi, Merry Christmas everyone (again).

I've finished subbing a London Hearts episode for you who have been asking for one....for ages.

For those who aren't familiar with this show, it's a popular variety show hosted by London Boots, a comedy duo consisting of Tamura Atsushi and Tamura Ryo. It started off as a prank show, with the main aim of getting ordinary people cheat with their partner by making a good looking actor/actress approach them. All of this while the other partner watches along with the show's crew through secret cameras. They also often trick celebrities (or young comedians/ not really celebrities yet...) with similar methods.

They don't do this so much anymore, probably because of the censorship issues of being a prime time TV show in modern times. However, they still do trick people and upload them onto youtube where you can watch it for free. Here's the link.

Some people mentioned subbed ones of these, although I don't know where they are. Maybe you could be kind enough to post in the comments section.=)?

Well as I wrote before, London Hearts don't broadcast these tricks on TV. Instead, they often get comedians to rank each other on things and then compare it to rankings based on ordinary people's opinions (eg, school girls). Themes can include stuff like "Which man would you most want to marry" out of a group of comedians. These comedians then come in the studio and make a lot of noise about it. etc etc. etc.

So anyway, here's one of these episodes. Felt like ages doing it, and thought it might be boring as well, but after doing the final check/watching it, I found that the translations flowed better than I thought.

There's also a bunch of running jokes that you'll only know from watching previous eps, so I tried putting notes where needed.

  1. Hey Godzilla thx for this one I really appreciate your effort.
Btw I think that all the videos on the London
Hearts YouTube channel have subtitles but you have to turn the captions on in order to see them.

    1. Aha, I see. Does that mean London Hearts have official subtitled them? That'd be surprising.

    2. Yeah it is really surprising, but since it is an official channel I think the subtitles are made by the production team of London Hearts.

  2. Thank you Godzilla. I always have enjoyed London Hearts. For the subtitles in the youtube videos you need to turn on closed caption aka the CC button.

Also out of curiosity. Has anyone won the 1million yen reward. I haven't seen anyone win it yet.

    1. No, but apparently some have guessed the worst 3, or the worst 1 and got a fraction of the prize money.

    2. Yeah, I really hoped that the file would continue on to the London Boots part, or that there would be a separate subbed file for that part somewhere but I have never found one. The teaser clips looked really entertaining!
