Video Subbing: Moya Moya Summers (2012.04.15)



Good evening all,

Thanks for your patience while I complete subbing videos and shiz.
This time I decided to sub a show I've never done before, and yet is currently one of my most favourite shows. It goes by the name of Moya Moya Summers, and is hosted by the comedy duo, Summers (Mimura Masakazu and Otake Kazuki) and TV announcer Oe Mariko.

You may be familiar with Summers from the show 'Lincoln'. Right now, they are one of the most popular comedians in Japan and are known for their casual and laid back approach to comedy. They tend not to jump into activities like a lot of their peers and actually often admit that they just can't be bothered.

This show very much portrays this signature style, as all they do is wander around various areas in Japan without much aim, apart form searching for random things that catch their attention. This might sound uneventful, but this show is pretty amazing in how many crazy local people, crazy shops, and just simply unusual activities they end up finding.

I don't know whether you'll like this since it's quite different to the types of Japanese shows that you guys are probably familiar with. Also, the episode I chose might not really be the funniest, but I thought you might find the information within it interesting too so......yeah, hope you like it!

Oh...and I thought I'd be more proper and sub some of the text that keeps popping up on the screen but......I got lazy and stopped a quarter of the way...

Maybe I should consider getting some people to time these things for me?

    I love Summers! Thanks for subbing this, I had watched it before but my Japanese is still pretty bad so I missed most of what they were saying.

      Well....there's not much point doing half of it.
      But yes, it does take a while. Too bad most shows are the same length..

      Same! That was one of the things that made me like the series too.
      I needed a break from the over the top hustle bustle of typical Japanese comedy.

    (Extra thanks for having the subs in those colored brackets, it was easier for the eye to read.)

    One might think at first "So 2 guys and a girl walk around in a random town, checking out local shops, people and foods - why would that bother me if I'm not part of it?", but it turns out to be a great show and this is proof how interesting Japan can be (and we have seen only a very little part of it). :)

    I would love to see more episodes of this show.
    (It's also great, that it was a recent one, not something like from the 90's)
    Although, on the other hand - is Otake-san always such a mean person?

      I also found the coloured bracket things to be surprisingly good.

      Yeah, Otake tends to be fairly mean lol.
      He's not a particularly friendly guy.

    Wow seems like many people know this show))
    I know Summers only by Lincoln, really thought they was useless tbh.
    But this is golden)) Enjoyed every minute of it! Especially how they teasing their so-host))) Thank you very much!

      Yeah, they aren't too impressive if you judge them from their work on Lincoln.

      It's kind of like how Cocorico are boring on Gaki no Tsukai.

    This show was a nice surprise, I really enjoyed it! Also, during the ending credits.. hearing group_inou was a surprise! The only Japanese music I've ever actually listened to.

      Their ending songs are often quite unusual/ surprising artists for some reason. Pretty cool though.

      It will be hard to replace her! She fit in really well with Summers, they had a really nice balance amongst them.

    I wanted it just because you subbed it :P. Even though I went into it blind I ended up enjoying it all the way through, I also liked the box around the text made it easier on the eyes. I thank you for your time for subbing this, and maybe we will see more of this series in the near future ;)
