J BUROGU IS 2 YEARS OLD

Hey everyone!

J Burogu has now, to my own surprise, reached it's 2nd birthday!

Well it seems that this blog has come a fair way since it's humble beginnings in April 24th 2011.
And that's very much thanks to you guys, for showing interest in the stuff that I do here.

Wait....the 24th was yesterday....for me anyway. I forgot to post this even though I had it ready for about a week. Fail. Except, I think this won't matter for people living in the USA (and some other countries) because I live one day ahead of you guys. Yes, I live in the future.

When I first started this blog, it was supposed to be a site based on Japanese culture in general, where I could write whatever I felt like, or post whatever I thought was interesting. Quickly, I found out that writing posts are generally very time consuming and tiring. By the time I'm half way or a quarter way through, I'd have lost my drive to write, and would have forgotten most of what I wanted to write.

Maybe it was burnout or something because, looking back at my older activity, it seems that my rate of posting bordered insanity, with about one every 2~3 days. Even when barely anyone read them. So thanks to the people who did view them back  in the day and commented and stuff.

It only took a few months before I decided to start subbing short videos, with the first being a Hey Hey Hey episode featuring Hotei Tomoyasu. Man, it felt like it took me forever to do that one short clip though. Eventually, I picked up speed and began to sub full shows of around 40 minutes.

Gradually, as more videos were subbed, more people found them and the blog gained new fans!
......And I stopped doing written posts and mainly began subbing.

Anyway, I'm really happy to have been able to show you some of these Japanese shows, and hopefully I've introduced you to something that you can laugh and enjoy watching.

I appreciated your on going support, and will be continuing to provide subs to the best of my ability (and motivation) for the time being, and don't have any intention to stop just yet.

SO! Thanks to those who check this blog and look forward to more fun things in the future! But one day behind me.

  1. Thanks for all the hard work you do to sub these videos. Me and my girlfriend watch all your uploads because Japanese is her first language. You have provided us a lot of hours of entertainment, and it makes me happy that she can relax and not focusing to listening or reading subtitles. We recently watched your subbed vids of Moya Moya Summers and loved it because Otake-san is one our favorites from Lincoln. Thanks again for what you do, and I hope you find the time to provide us with more!

The work you do is phenomenal and it's pretty damn generous of you for investing the time and effort to sub these videos. 9. Wow, 2 years this blog has been around. I remember coming here last year when I was trying to find some good subs for variety shows I've seen on Youtube (or downloaded from other subbers). Thanks to your blog, I have something to do during my downtime between classes at school.

  13. You have done great work for the western owarai community by subbing Suberanai Hanashi, Lincoln, Shabekuri 007 and all the other shows and clips. There aren't many active translators in the scene anymore, so you have all my gratitude and respect.

  16. Congratulations. I've been here for at least a year and loving your blog since I first started reading it. You were the first one to start subbing 40minutes shows that weren't downtown related and for that you deserve a place in history xDD
Thanks for all your hard work and I hope I'll still see you around, here, and in the Gaki Team.
