Video Subbing [REQUEST]: YAMADA TAKAYUKI on Domoto Tsuyoshi's Shoujiki Shindoi (2009.07.08)

Hey there folks,

Here's another video subbing for you. This time it's a requested episode of Domoto Tsuyoshi's Shoujiki Shindoi. I've done one episode from this show before, although that was quite some time ago. I quite like this show. It's not so long, and chilled. There's not much over-exaggerated reactions and stuff which tends to get annoying in many shows. This episode features the actor Yamada Takayuki, who you may know from the Crow movies. What else was there...? There was a Dragon Quest spoof drama that he was in, which was moderately funny.

Yamada is quite a shy fellow. Actually a very shy fellow. I thought it might have just been an act but I've seen another show where he was like this. Maybe it was just a phase like Joaquin Phoenix being a rapper? Except that turned out to be a hoax or something.

Well anyway, he's still quite a cool dude.

TRANSLATION NOTES

LUPIN THE 3RD
A much loved manga/anime series following the adventures super thief Lupin the Third. This is extremely famous in Japan, I doubt you'll come across a person who doesn't know it. You may have seen the movie called "Castle of Cagliostro", which features these guys. If not, then watch it.

"THE" PREMIUM MALT'S
Apparently is......

YAKITORI
Yakitori are pieces or barbecued chicken on skewers flavored with soy sauce. It's a very popular night time bite for salary men out having a drink. Yakitori stores cook lots of them at the same time, which sets of a lot of chicken smelling smoke. A lot of the time they cook it right in front of you so you go home smelling like it too.... They also use just about every part of the chicken. Liver, lung and other guts and bits and pieces. They all taste good though.

GINNAN
These are nuts from a gingko tree. You can cook these and eat it.

    1. Wow,Do they?
      o.O

But even before this episode,I do feel that they kinda resemble each other, yet I'm a bit surprised actually knowing that takayuki is this shy,but it's kinda adorable to see him being high tension whenever discuss about acting.

Will be interesting too to see both of them acting together in movie/dorama,which character will be played by who.

  24. So, I enjoyed this video a couple weeks ago, days went past and then I suddenly realized this actor was the lead in the 'Densha Otoko' film from 2005 or so. MIND BLOWN.
